Biography
Nigel Brown has spent the last 10 years as an independent environmental consultant specialising in UMIST Ltd and He is particularly involved in the development of new processes and is currently working at UMIST on a novel wastewater treatment process. Prior to setting up as an independent specialist, Nigel was the Process Engineering Manager at Simon-Hartley Ltd, a firm specialising in effluent and sludge treatment plant. He joined Simon-Hartley from Foseco International Ltd, where he was responsible for advising Foseco operating companies world-wide on water issues and for developing novel processes and plants for existing and new products. Nigel Brown (Nykin Developments, on secondment to UMIST Dept Chemical Engineering) is the main author of the paper. Affiliates are: E.P.L. Roberts, (both UMIST Dept Chemical Engineering) and R.A.W. Dryfe (UMIST Dept Chemistry).
