Alan Cantwell was one of the founding directors of Brightwater Engineering and was instrumental in the development of the well-established Biobead process. Lately, he has led the development of the Membrane Bioreactor programme. Cantwell trained as a Chemical Engineer at the University of Birmingham and went on to complete a PhD at U.M.I.S.T. in 1971. Paul Bolger has been published widely in numerous international journals. He joined Bord na Móna Environmental in November 2001 as wastewater technology development manager to co-ordinate and develop wastewater research activities. Paul Bolger graduated from The Queen's University of Belfast with a PhD in Chemistry in 1999, after obtaining a BSc in Environmental Science and Technology from Sligo Institute of Technology.
