Site Development and Restoration
The Company Located in metropolitan Chicago, TRI is a full service environmental remediation and earthwork contractor. In our years of experience, TRI has excavated, treated and transported millions of yards of contaminated soils and geologic materials. Our heavy equipment operators have years of experience using state of the art techniques to safely and efficiently fulfill the needs of your earthwork project. Demolition, site development, grading and site restoration are all part of TRI's expertise as a full service environmental and earthwork contractor. TRI ``self performs`` all of its projects with TRI personnel and TRI equipment, including all earthwork. By doing this, TRI eliminates down line sub-contracting - which results in better control; cost, schedule, quality of work, and the ability to guarantee the performance and dedication clients expect from their contractors. TRI has successfully completed projects within the LUST, SRP, RCRA, and CERCLA frameworks to receive No Further Remediation (NFR) letters and saved our clients millions of dollars by offering innovative low cost remediation alternatives. TRI uses the disciplines of construction management, project management, and environmental management in developing and executing cost conscious project plans. These disciplines and our experience with various kinds of remediation projects offer the expertise, regulatory assurance and competitive pricing for any project. Cost is always an important issue to all concerned; however, with TRI it becomes a far second to Health & Safety issues. TRI's staff spends a great deal of time to protect its personnel through careful planning, hazard recognition and control, and training to assure that the health and safety of the project site personnel and the public are never compromised. Goals Our goal is to provide our clients with the highest level of performance at the lowest possible cost, while complying with all regulations and to perform its projects free of incidents. TRI's ability to implement the appropriate technology and earthwork equipment insures a quick and cost effective solution to the problem.

Indirect Heat Volatilization
Indirect Heat Volatilization-Highly Portable Thermal Extraction System Indirect Heat Volatilization (IHV) remedial technology, proprietary to TRI, is a quick and cost-effective solution to the complex issues surrounding the cleanup of hazardous waste. Using this IHV technology, TRI contractually guarantees to remediate the soil to below- clean-up objectives. IHV is a highly portable, cost-effective, self-contained, ``closed loop`` emission free cleaning/ stripping/ flushing/ thermal extraction system. The IHV system under the influence of pressurized steam, removes volatile organic contaminants from the soil masses with virtually no impact to the surrounding environment. Since steam is the heat source, there is no direct flame in contact with the contaminants, so the possibility for combustion or incineration simply does not exist as it does with conventional direct fired technologies. It is this approach that makes IHV so accepted by the public -- and easy to permit. This permitted and approved system has successfully treated over 45,000 tons of hazardous solvent contaminated soil located in commercial & residential areas in the last 12 months alone.

Remediation Projects
Remediation - Indirect Heat Volatilization Former Dry Cleaners / Dames & Moore, Park Ridge, IL - Using IHV technology at the site where a grocery store was replacing a dry cleaners, TRI successfully treated 9,500 tons of land banned hazardous PCE/TCE impacted soils to below-CUO’s, backfilled and compacted on site. The grocery store was able to remain open for business. Auto Manufacturer / Gaiatech, Detroit, MI - 8,800 tons of TCE/DCE impacted soils treated to below objectives. Treated soils were used as clean fill. USEPA / Superfund Site, Gary, IN - 4,500 tons of hazardous VOC & PNA impacted soils were treated to below LDR’s and disposed of in a Sub-Title “D” landfill. Manufacturer / ERM, Elk Grove, IL - 1,500 tons of land banned hazardous chlorinated solvents were treated to below CUO’s and backfilled. Also installed a DPE system. Electronics Company / Franklin Park, IL – 800 tons of soil contaminated with DCA, DCE, TCA, TCE, and vinyl chloride were treated to below CUO’s using TRI’s Indirect Heat Volatilization Steam Injection System (IHV). Electronics Manufacturer / Harwood Heights, IL - This project was part of the IEPA Voluntary Clean Up Program. Soil contaminated with RCRA hazardous waste was excavated and treated with TRI’s IHV system. With hot spots of 68,000 ppm reduced to below 3 ppm. Manufacturer / Chicago, IL - TRI did the permitting, site preparation, excavation, water control, and thermal treatment using Indirect Heat Volatilization (IHV) of soils contaminated with RCRA hazardous chlorinated solvents. With hot spots of 30,000 ppm, all soils were treated to below land ban levels and were then transported off site as a special waste. Remediation - Low Temperature Thermal Desorption Garland Road Superfund Project, WEST MILTON, OHIO - Excavation and LTTD treatment of 15,000 tons of Hazardous VOC's and stabilization of lead to below TCLP. United States Navy Project, Bechtel, JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA - LTTD treatment of over 40,000 tons of Jet Fuel (JP4) impacted soils.

Soil Vapor Extraction / Dual Phase Extraction Projects
Remediation - Soil Vapor Extraction / Dual Phase Extraction Inland Steel / Van Leer Containers / Remediation Technologies, Alsip, IL - Installation of an air sparging system and IHV treatment of hazardous solvent contaminated soils and ground water, removal and replacement of sewer lines. Bell Fuels / Bascor, Mount Prospect, IL - TRI mobilized its Dual Phase Extraction system to the Bell Fuels site located in Chicago. An interceptor trench, 2 feet wide by 60 feet long by 8 feet deep was excavated to accommodate the 4" slotted PVC. The interceptor trench along with a previously installed vertical extraction well was connected to the DPE system. The purpose of the DPE system was to remove free-product gasoline. Valspar / Clayton, Rockford, IL - Trenching & installation of 800 feet of HDPE to a series of 10 SVE wells. Fusing of HDPE, connection to well heads & gauge installation. Remediation – Underground Storage Tanks Com-Ed / Metcalf & Eddy, Waukegan, IL - Sampling, waste profiling, permitting, excavation, UST removal, T & D of 950 tons of PCB TASCA waste. Chicago Department Of Environment / Harza, Chicago, IL - 19 UST's were removed and disposed of from four different locations. Excavation, backfill & site restoration. Calumet City / M&E, Calumet City, IL - 9 UST's were removed and disposed.
