Frescatore Consulting LLC, a locally based, full service construction waste management firm, has been selected to oversee the construction waste management and recycling implementation plans and services for three major construction projects in Central Pennsylvania. The JEM Group, LLC, the contractor responsible for the Dickinson College – Science Facility project, in Carlisle, and R.S. Mowery & Sons, Inc, the contractor responsible for the Milton Hershey Schools – Springboard Academy project, and also the Hershey Medical Center – East Campus Neuromuscular Facility project, located in Hershey, both selected Frescatore Consulting to design, train, and implement the entire construction waste management plan for these projects. These three projects alone, represent approximately $71,000,000 of construction dollars.
The two construction firms selected an industry expert in order to meet the stringent requirements for recycling of construction waste for the Leadership in Energy and Enviromental Design(LEED™) Program, enabling these projects to attain the status of a “Green Building”.
Green Buildlings are designed to conserve energy and water over the lifetime of the building, as well as achieve high indoor air quality, while diverting 50%-75%(Depending on the certification level) of the waste generated during the construction process, from landfills. LEED™ Intiatives are instituted by Federal, State and Local Governments,and many Schools through-out the United States. “This concept is becoming more and more important as energy costs rise, and our society recognizes the importance of conserving our natural resources, including rising waste costs, and decreased landfill space” said Richard Frescatore, President and Founder of Frescatore Consulting.
