The first in a series of 5 environmental seminars hosted by WSP Environmental in Warsaw, was attended last month by delegates from Clifford Chance, EBRD, White and Case, and Allied Irish Bank.
The seminar at the British Embassy provided a high level review of new ways of managing environmental liabilities. With contaminated land, carbon liabilities and reputational risk still not being addressed significantly in business transactions in Poland, our seminar reviewed the size of these risks and how they can be addressed through a combination of accounting practices, legal conditions and insurance.
Held in conjunction with accountants, Howarth Polska and insurers, Global Environmental, we examined traditional options to liability management as well as new approaches such as WSP Environmental's fixed price remediation service, and remediation and insurance solutions.
The second seminar in our series will be held at the British Embassy on 20 June. This will review the design of sustainable buildings and will be led by world renowned architect, Peter Sharratt. All our seminars are brief, high level sessions, and are part of WSP Environmental’s vision to lead the debate on environmental issues in Poland.
