RBS Offshore Skimmers and Floating Hose System

RBS Offshore Skimmers

Aqua-Guard`s RBS Offshore Skimmers are high-capacity oil spill recovery systems suitable for use in open oceans and harbours, effective in static and vessel side-sweep operations. RBS Offshore Skimmers feature four recovery units per skimmer head with interchangeable brush, disc or drum recovery modules and an internal high-capacity weir for the recovery of virtually any oil type.

RBS Offshore Skimmers are part of a complete system that includes a Floating Hose System for faster and safer deployment, heavy-duty pump and power packs and oil storage tanks for holding recovered oil temporarily.

RBS-25 DIW Oil Skimmer

The RBS-25 DIW Oil Skimmer is designed for recovering oil spills in protected waters and evaporation ponds. The brush recovery system is ideal for recovering heavier oils but also performs well in medium viscosity oils.

RBS-40 DIW Oil Skimmer

The RBS-40 DIW Oil Skimmer is designed for recovering oil spills in open ocean, protected waters and evaporation ponds. The brush recovery system is ideal for recovering heavier oils but also performs well in medium viscosity oils.

RBS-50 DIW Oil Skimmer

The RBS-50 DIW oil skimmer is designed for recovering oil spills in open ocean and protected waters. The larger brushes in the recovery system are ideal for heavier oils but they also perform well in medium viscosity oils.

RBS-100 DIW Oil Skimmer

The RBS-100 DIW oil skimmer is designed for recovering oil spills in open ocean and protected waters. The larger brushes in the recovery system are ideal for heavier oils but they also perform well in medium viscosity oils.

Floating Hose System

The Floating Hose System is a reel-mounted power and oil transfer hose that greatly simplifies and speeds the deployment of RBS Offshore Skimmers.

Aqua-Guard`s Floating Hose System combines the many hydraulic power and oil recovery hoses into a single, sealed hose that is stored and deployed from a special hydraulically-powered reel. Once connected, the RBS Skimmer head becomes fully functional with only partial deployment of the hose from the reel, reducing the number of crew required and improving operational safety particularly in offshore wave conditions.

RBS Inshore Skimmers

Aqua-Guard`s RBS Inshore Skimmers are suitable for use in harbours, lakes and ponds, rivers, and for recovering oil from industrial tanks with the use of vacuum trucks. RBS Inshore models feature a single recovery unit with interchangeable brush, disc or drums allowing the skimmer to work with a variety of heavy to light viscosity oils. A choice of pump and power options are available and both the RBS-05 and RBS-10 units can be supplied in a twin configuration with double the recovery capacity.

The RBS-01 Skimmer is ideal for industrial applications such as oil/water separators, sumps and chronic spills.

RBS-05 Skimmer

The RBS-05 Skimmer is designed for recovering oil spills in protected waters, for use with Vac Trucks, for removing oil from industrial tanks, evaporation pits and drilling platform wells. RBS-05 is available in a twin configuration for increased recovery capacity requirements and a special XLT version complete with skimmer head and hose storage bags.

RBS-10 Skimmer

The RBS-10 Skimmer is designed for recovering oil spills in protected waters, for use with Vacuum Trucks, for removing oil from industrial tanks, evaporation pits and drilling platform wells.

RBS-10 is available in a twin configuration with a Marflex pump for increased capacity requirements. A special XLT version comes complete with skimmer head and hose storage bags.

EV-3 Skimmer System

The Aqua-Guard EV-3 is an entry-level oil skimmer that incorporates many of the performance features found on our industry leading RBS oil skimmers.

EV-3 Skimmers rely on adhesion of oil to the surface of a rotating Brush, Disc or Drum. As this rotates through the oil/water surface, the oil adheres to the bristles or drum surface and is removed by a scraper. The recovered fluid is collected in a common sump and pumped away.

Rope Mop Skimmers

Rope Mop Skimmers are suitable for recovering oil from the surface of water in remote relatively inaccessible areas. They are particularly useful in open water wave conditions or where a high quantity of debris is present. They can be operated in ditches, ponds, lagoons, canals, pits and separators.

Oil adheres to the oleophilic ropes as they pass through oil on the surface of the water. Squeeze rollers in the skimmer head remove the oil from the ropes as they pass through the head.

Our range of Rope Mop skimmers comprises

Rope Mop 90 - Our largest capacity model designed for the recovery of heavy and medium viscosity oils. A crane suspends the skimmer head over the surface of the water. Since the skimmer head doesn`t touch the water it is ideal for use in rougher water conditions.

Rope Mop 40 - A lightweight, barrel mounted model for use in a horizontal operation.

Aqua-Weir Skimmers

Aqua-Weir Skimmers are available in a number of sizes to suit your recovery needs. Aqua-Weir skimmers are ideal for collecting oil in shallow water and can be used in conjunction with your existing pumps or our line of Vacuum Trucks.

Boom Wings

Boom Wings attach to fittings on the RBS-05 and RBS-10 Skimmers. They act as guides to channel spilled oil to the skimmer head intake.

Cold Weather Hose

Aqua-Guard offers a ``Bumble Bee`` suction and discharge hose that remains flexible in cold weather. Another benefit to the hose is reduced storage volume. The picture shows both the standard 2`` discharge hose and the 2`` ``Bumble Bee`` hose.

Lift Poles

Lift Poles are designed to assist personnel in moving the components of RBS-05 and RBS-10 skimming systems. The skimmer heads, pumps and hydraulic power packs all have fittings that allow the poles to be inserted.

XLT Package

The XLT Accessory Package for the RBS-05 and RBS-10 Oil Skimmers includes a bush bag that holds the extra flexible and compact suction and discharge hoses, spare parts and tools.

Aqua-Guard supplies a wide range of Oil Spill Containment Booms, Boom Storage Reels and Accessories for responding to oil spills in most types of environments including difficult land and shoreline situations, permanent harbour installations and open water wave conditions.

HarbourFlex Boom

HarbourFlex permanent containment boom is designed to protect Port facilities, loading terminals and marinas. HarbourFlex features long term durability, excellent resistance to ultraviolet, wave action and marine growth with very low maintenance.

HarbourFlex is available in two models - HarbourFlex-L with the standard, long float and HarbourFlex-S, a new design with short style floats that can be used on our SeaReel system. Aqua-Guard also offers a wide range of slide guide attachments for securing the boom to any dock or piling.

Features

• HarbourFlex is constructed of very durable conveyor belting material and can be left in the water for years with minimum maintenance
• The HarbourFlex floats are roto-moulded and foam filled. They provide superior buoyancy and higher stability in rough water and eliminate the need for bottom ballast to keep the boom upright
• HarbourFlex-S can be stored on an Aqua-Guard SeaReel
• Cost effective tidal compensators and dock sealing systems are available
• Easy to use open/close system to allow vessels to enter and leave the protected area

AirFlex Neoprene Boom

AirFlex Neoprene is an air-inflated boom with all the benefits of conventional AirFlex plus increased UV resistance and excellent inflation characteristics. AirFlex Neoprene provides superior performance and reliability over conventional air-inflated booms with enhanced resistance to the Sun`s ultraviolet rays and a vulcanized construction that ensures airtight inflation. It`s segmented chamber design means damage to a single boom section will not result in the loss of boom integrity and the durable Neoprene material can easily be repaired in the field should damage occur. Aqua-Guard manufactures AirFlex Neoprene Boom for use in a wide variety of conditions from calmer inner harbours to open ocean waves. Custom sizes are available on request.

AirFlex Boom

AirFlex is an air-inflated boom designed for storage and deployment using Aqua-Guard`s SeaReels. AirFlex`s high-buoyancy makes it suitable for use in a wide variety of conditions from sheltered water to open ocean waves. It`s unique segmented chamber design utilizes a heavy-duty fabric and optional airtight inner bladders for increased puncture resistance. These are easily removed for repair or replacement if damaged. AirFlex is also available with solid foam floatation sections along the top of the boom to keep it afloat should one of the chambers deflate. AirFlex is very compact in storage and large quantities can be stored on Aqua-Guard`s SeaReel Boom Storage Reel systems. AirFlex is also available in a single chamber model on request.

Liteflex F Boom

Liteflex F (Flat) oil spill containment boom is designed for use in protected harbours, lakes and rivers or streams with slower currents.

Lifeflex R

Lifeflex R `Contractor` type boom is designed for use in outer harbours with limited wave action, protected harbours, lakes and rivers or streams with slow currents.

Riverflex Boom

Riverflex oil spill containment boom is designed for use in rivers, streams or ocean where there are extreme currents to deal with.

• Top tension cable adds additional strength to the boom
• Unique floatation retention system eliminates the need for vertical welds that pinch the boom and can cause damage to the boom fabric around the top tension cable under extreme stress

Beachflex Boom

Beachflex Containment Boom can be used to create a continuous oil spill barrier between regular floating booms and beaches in tidal areas. It is also suitable in marshy areas and creeks as it conforms to the adjacent land and floats in the water.

Features

• Beachflex is a 3-chamber containment boom. The top chamber is air-inflated and the bottom two chambers are filled with water
• Large Monsun MKVII valves allow this boom to be filled and emptied quickly
• An inexpensive gasoline powered backpack air inflator is used to fill the air chamber
• An inexpensive gasoline powered water pump is used to the fill the two bottom ballast chambers

Self-Inflating Boom

Aqua-Guard Self-Inflating oil spill containment boom is designed for use in open ocean, outer harbours with limited wave action, and protected harbours. It is deployed from containers or from a boat deck. Self-Inflating boom will deploy faster than any other air-inflated boom in the world.

• Rapid deployment - 300 meters (1,000 ft) can be deployed in 5 minutes

• Separate bulkhead chambers maintain boom buoyancy in the event of damage to part of a boom section
• Patented one-way air valves allow air to enter while being deployed but automatically close after deployment

These tanks are suitable for storing oil that is recovered during oil spills and are designed to work with our high capacity RBS Offshore Skimmers.

Boom Storage Reels

Aqua-Guard Sea Reels are a system for the storage and deployment of oil spill containment booms. Aqua-Guard manufactures three styles of containment boom that are suitable for storage on SeaReels - LiteFlex F (flat float), LiteFlex R (round float) and the full line of AirFlex pressure inflatable booms.
