Cleanfield Energy Corp. is a North American company, developing a 2.5kW Vertical Axis Rooftop Wind Turbine System (RTWTS), which is currently in prototype phase and with investment support the product will be in the marketplace in the fall of 2005. Our RTWTS can deliver clean reliable electricity to households and small businesses. The wind turbine is designed specifically for rooftop installation on residential dwellings and small buildings.

Wind Turbine System

The 2.5kW Vertical Axis Rooftop Wind Turbine System (RTWTS)

We have created a wind energy system that is not only highly efficient and strong enough to withstand gale force winds, but one that also works quieter, compact and visually striking.

The RTWTS is primarily composed of fibreglass, aluminium, and steel, giving it a weight of approximately 350 pounds. It stands at a height of 3 meters and harnesses the wind with its 2.5 meters diameter. It covers an area of 7.5 square meters

Three main components of our RTWTS are

• Wind turbine vertical blades
• Generator - produce electricity from the rotation of the turbine
• Power Electronics

The RTWTS is designed specifically for rooftop installation (residential or commercial), however, the system can be mounted to a pole/tower and can be used for grid and off-grid application. Minimal maintenance is required, and has with an estimated life span of 20-30 years. We offer a 5-year warranty with extended coverage available.

Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT) operates with a propeller-like rotor, which has an axis that is parallel to the ground and Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) have an axis perpendicular to the flow of the wind.

• During the design phase, our engineering team made special consideration to develop a wind system, which is quieter than a typical household air conditioner
• RTWTS increases the property value of a household or small business because the leading-edge technology will be in operation for 20 to 30 years
• The advantage of our RTWTS is that no tower is required, however, purchasers will have an option to install a steel tower (sizes 64 feet to over 120 feet), if desired
• The RTWTS is extremely reliable and require very little maintenance. Our design team recommends an annual inspection to preserve the operational life of the turbine
• Our RTWTS is rooftop mounted, which is a major advantage over other small wind turbine systems in the marketplace, which typically require a steel tower
