MWH Labs has received preliminary approval from EPA for testing under the Unregulated Contaminant Montioring Rule (UCMR2) scheduled for promulgation in November, 2006. Under the UCMR2 lab approval program, laboratories conducting the testing must submit complete data packages to EPA for review. Following acceptance of the data packages, the lab is eligible to participate in proficiency testing to gain final approval for conducting testing under the Regulation. MWH received notice of the acceptance of data packages submitted for EPA methods 525, 527, and 529 for pesticides, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, and explosives. Testing using these methods will be required for all impacted systems under UCMR2. MWH will participate in the first proficiency testing round scheduled for September 2006.
