On-Site, THERMAL DESORPTION Services for the Remediation of Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soil

Nelson Environment Remediation Ltd provides on-site Thermal Desorption Service for treatment of hydrocarbon contaminated soil.

Nelson Environment Remediation Ltd offers exceptional VALUE ADDED benefits:

Costs:  Competitive to other less reliable remediation solutions.
Time:  Predictable, compact, time frame.
Liability:  Provides basis for removal of liability issues attached to the site.
Responsibility:  Invoicing on a per tonne basis is  initiated only after success has been verified by independent laboratory reports.

Working within a predictable and compact time frame. Nelson Environment Remediation Ltd determines that no toxic compounds are released into the atmosphere as remediated hydrocarbons are all destroyed through oxidization.

Working of the Thermal Desorption Unit

How the Mobile Thermal Desorption Unit Works

  1. Contaminated soil is loaded into a screening device which feeds soil over a weigh scale and into the rotary desorber.
  2. This scale provides soil feed rates and tonnage to the unit`s control room.
  3. Volatile organic compounds and moisture in the soil are vaporized by heat supplied from a direct-firing burner. Soil temperatures can reach as high as 650°C (1200°F) in this stage.
  4. The heated and now clean soil is then fed through the auger quench system where multiple nozzle water spray system cools and rehydrates the clean soil as it exits the system.
  5. The gases then flow through the bag house where a filter system removes the dust particulate.
  6. This particulate is reintroduced to the rotary kiln.
  7. The gases then flow into a thermal oxidizer where total destruction occurs at temperatures over 870°C (1600°F).
  8. Treated Off-Gas: nitrogen, water vapor, oxygen, and carbon dioxide.
