Study Links Common Pollutants to Heart Problems during Exercise

If your doctor tells you to exercise for your heart, choose the right place and time of day, or you could do as much harm as good.

A news study shows diesel exhaust and fine soot particles had the effect of increasing risk factors for heart attacks when people were exposed during exercise, according to an Associated Press story.

Environmental and health experts have long warned people to avoid heavy exertion during hot summer days when ozone, smog and particulate levels tend to be at their highest.
