Photoionization Detector (PID)
Photoionization Detectors (PID) are handheld instruments that measure and display the combined concentration of a range of common VOCs in the air. One number represents the total of measured VOCs expressed as equivalents to the calibration gas. PIDs are used for environmental screening, sampling, regulatory compliance, and worker safety. The 2020 Pro is Photovac’s newly designed and upgraded PID. It is smaller, lighter, and more user-friendly with an ergonomic grip and menu-driven choices.
The 2020 Pro monitors continuously with the built in pump drawing air samples past the detector. A large 7-line graphic digital display continually reports concentrations. An alarm can be set to trigger at user determined concentrations. Calibrations performed on one gas can be converted to equivalent concentrations of other gases. Data logging can be performed at pre-set intervals and STEL, peak, and time weighted average can be displayed. Data can be tagged to conform with EPA Method 21. The 2020 Pro Chart Software ensures easy and useful downloading of thousands of data points.
Flame Ionization Detector (PID)
Flame Ionization Detectors (FID) burn Hydrogen fuel to ionize Volatile Organic Compounds in the air and provide a measure of the combined VOC concentrations. FIDs have a wider VOC range and lower detection limits. The Photovac MicroFID is the smallest and lightest Flame Ionization Detector available and is virtually immune to water vapor. The integrated, refillable Hydrogen fuel cylinder and the rechargeable battery last up to 12 hours. The MicroFID is designed for field use and can be operated with one hand while wearing protective gloves. Critical data is displayed and logged in less than 3 seconds within the concentration range of 0.5 to 50,000 PPM. The reading is expressed as equivalent units of calibration gas. Up to 750 datapoints can be stored with time and date stamp. Minimum, maximum, and average readings over a selected time interval can then be downloaded to a PC.
Miniature 4 Gas Monitor
The RKI GX-2001 is the smallest and most affordable 4-gas monitor in the world. It simultaneously monitors combustibles, oxygen, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide. The pager-size instrument is operated by 3 buttons. It offers standard features like a unique vibration alarm, autocalibration, datalogging, rechargeable Ni-Cad battery pack, STEL/TWA readings, peak hold, and auto backlighting at alarm on a large LCD display. It even displays the time! A Datalogging software program is available separately and is Windows® 95, 98, 2000, M, E and NT compatible.
6 Gas Portable Monitor
The RKI Eagle is a rugged and reliable portable gas monitor. The Eagle can be configured to measure LEL and PPM concentration for hydrocarbon, standard confined-space gasses, and the widest range of super-toxic gasses such as PH3, CI2, NH3, HCL, HF, O3 and many others. Features include: auto calibration, industrial sampling pump with 125-foot range, 30-hour battery life, methane elimination switch, and 2 programmable alarms per sensor.
Multi Gas LEL Meter
The MSA Orion® Multi-Gas Detector is a low-cost, reliable, and easy-to-use portable instrument for detecting the presence and concentration of O2, H2S, CO and combustible gas, in manholes, confined spaces, and around tank-pulls. This meter will hold up to rough handling in harsh environments. It employs 2-year warranted smart sensors. Internal pump delivers constant air flow across sensors.
Indoor Air Quality System
The GrayWolf DirectSense™ portable Indoor Air Quality system simultaneously measures Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, % Relative Humidity, Temperature and Dewpoint with one probe using a Pocket PC or laptop PC to run WolfSense™ IAQ software. Air velocity in and around ducts and particulate mass concentration are also measured using separate probes and software.
Sensor outputs are displayed in real time on the computer screen and also logged into organized, site-related files for easy access and reporting. Notes, recordings, sketches, and even photos can be appended quickly to location-specific readings for complete and efficient data organization. Fifteen preformatted reports and the WolfSense™ data analysis PC software enable quick and efficient report generation from the data.

Toxic Gas Monitor
Use the power of mobile computing to measure, data log, and document toxic gas concentrations in the air. This is an excellent tool for commercial or industrial applications such as documenting worker exposure levels. Up to 5 user-selected parameters from a single probe.
The GrayWolf DirectSense™ TOX probe plugs into a Pocket PC or laptop PC running WolfSense™ Toxic Gas software, which provides an instantaneous data “snap-shot” of the conditions. Sensor outputs are displayed on the screen and logged into organized, site-related files for easy access and reporting. Notes, recordings, and even sketches can quickly be appended to location-specific readings for complete and efficient data organization. Software includes on-board measurement tips.
Toxic Gas can be added to one of the DirectSense IAQ kits or purchased as a separate kit. We can also help configure individual Toxic Gas items.
