Liquid Phase Carbons
Virgin and Twice Activated Carbons
EI-30 and EI-40
EI-30 and EI-40 grade virgin activated carbons are manufactured from select grades of bituminous coal, which are activated under rigidly controlled conditions. The resulting product is characterized by high internal surface area and contains a broad pore size distribution. This insures rapid contaminant diffusion within the granule and excellent adsorptive capacity for a broad spectrum of organic compounds.
Applications
Typical applications for EI-30 and EI-40 include wastewater treatment, groundwater remediation, chemical purification, food grade applications, pharmaceutical, and potable water treatment.
EI-30 One
EI-30 One, a granular steam activated carbon, is manufactured from select grades of coal that are activated at high temperatures under rigidly controlled conditions. The resulting product is characterized by a large internal surface area and broad pore size distribution.
Applications
Typical applications for EI-30 One are wastewater treatment, groundwater treatment, chemical purification, and pure water applications.
EI-30S
EI-30S is a 8x30 mesh virgin liquid phase carbon. This product is manufactured from select grades of coconut shell to give the superior hardness and activity required for liquid phase applications.
Applications
A coconut shell carbon can be advantageous for certain applications where superior kinetic properties are required, for instance removal of low concentrations of normally poorly adsorbed organics from groundwater and wastewaters.
EI-40One
EI-40One is a specialty grade activated carbon manufactured from select grades of bituminous coal, which are activated at high temperatures under rigidly controlled conditions. The resulting product is characterized by high internal surface area and contains a broad pore size distribution. This ensures rapid contaminant diffusion within the granule and excellent adsorptive capacity for a broad spectrum of organic compounds.
Applications
EI-40One grade activated carbon is abrasion resistant and can be used in either conventional fixed or pulse bed adsorption systems. The hardness of these products allows repetitive custom reactivation cycles to avoid the high cost of carbon disposal. Typical applications for EI-40One include wastewater treatment, groundwater remediation and chemical purification.
Reactivated Carbons
EI-30R and EI-840R
EI-30R and EI-840R are reactivated liquid phase carbons from Envirotrol`s custom segregated reactivation process.
Applications
EI-30R is our premium grade reactivated carbon which provides superior performance in the removal of a wide variety of organic contaminants in liquid applications. EI-840R is a reactivated carbon that has excellent adsorptive properties for a wide range of applications.
EI-PRC
EI-PRC is a powdered reactivated carbon produced by steam activation under carefully controlled conditions. It is most often used for treating industrial wastewaters or high strength municipal wastewaters. EI-PRC is ground to a particle size that provides the rapid settling required in most wastewater applications.
Applications
EI-PRC is primarily used to remove toxic organics along with BOD, TOC, COD from industrial and municipal wastewater. It is ground to optimize the settling characteristics of wastewater sludge and wets readily to minimize dusting.
EI-3100L and EI-3100W
EI-3100L is a fine-mesh, 30x100 mesh, reactivated grade of activated carbon which contains >12% ash. Apparent Density and Activity customer specific.
EI-3100W is a fine-mesh, 30x100 mesh, reactivated grade of activated carbon which contains <12% ash. Apparent Density and Activity customer specific.
Applications
They are intended for use in batch applications such as soil mixing or powdered activated carbon (PAC) applications where a larger carbon particle is preferred. This fine mesh material provides the excellent adsorption performance of PAC, but without the handling problems (dust, wetting, etc.) typically associated with PAC. The material has an adequate size distribution to permit proper dispersion once put into solution and provides for easy separation after treatment is complete. The larger size particles allow for easy dewatering during filter press operation to ensure that a minimal amount of water is retained in the filter cake.
VAPOR PHASE CARBONS
Virgin Carbons
EI-46 and EI-410
EI-46 and EI-410 grade virgin activated carbons are manufactured from select grades of bituminous coal, which are activated at high temperatures under rigidly controlled conditions. The resulting product is characterized by high internal surface area, offering superior gas phase adsorption properties for a broad spectrum of organic compounds.
Applications
Typical applications for EI-46 and EI-410 include: solvent recovery, odor control, tank vent adsorbers, HVAC, VOC control, Soil Vapor Extraction, Air Stripper Off-Gas, and Sub Part CC Compliance.
EI-46P
EI-46P 4 mm pellet carbons are made from select grades of high quality bituminous coal, activated under rigid process control conditions to yield a strong, dense, very active product suited for vapor phase adsorption. The product is double screened and de-dusted in process and prior to packaging to assure a clean, hard, dust free product with long service life.
Applications
EI-46P is ideal for solvent recovery or other vapor phase projects wherein pressure drop may be a concern.
Reactivated Carbons
EI-410R
EI-410R is reactivated vapor phase carbon through Envirotrol`s custom segregated reactivation process. This product provides excellent performance at a significant cost savings to its virgin carbon alternative. The 4x10 mesh size provides excellent pressure drop at a wide variety of flow rates.
Applications
EI-410R can be effectively utilized in a wide variety of applications including solvent recovery, vapor extraction, HVAC, purification of industrial gases, and VOC emissions control.
