Editorial

The serious threat posed by climate change inundates the print and electronic media everyday. This reminds community and business leaders that there are a range of potential natural hazards and threats, that must be considered when preparing emergency and business continuity plans.

According to Adrian Gordon President and CEO of CCEP, the non-profit presenter of the World Conference on Disaster Management (WCDM), there is clear evidence linking climate change and human activity. This, he says, is yet another wake up call for public and private organizations to continually revise, maintain, and test their contingency plans.

Hopefully this calling will be met with governments worldwide passing legislations that require significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

Featured White Paper
Title Isokinetic Monitoring and the Development of the New ISO 9096 Stackmite II
Author Adrian Thiedeman
Company AGL\Airtesting
Synopsis
With many new methods of dust monitoring from source emission points now being in existence, it has rapidly become apparent that several of these methods are either impractical or do not work. When it was observed that many of the various examples of sampling systems could give different results, the view was taken to provide a system based around a defined method and a clear set of equations.
