On May 4, 2007, the IPCC published the third report of the Fourth Assessment on Climate Change, the Summary for Policy Makers on Mitigation of Climate Change (IPCC 2007). All results of this very broad research are now available to the public. Since the final Technical Summary of the Working Group I has now been published, all evaluation data on a scientific basis of the Fourth Assessment are now known. Based on this the mitigation report sums up what must now be done to avoid a catastrophic climate development of our planet.
In the paper ‘‘Climate, Environment, Economy, Entropy’’ it was pointed out that entropy plays a key role in global development. The IPCC Reports did not address this aspect. For this reason the entropy question will be discussed in this paper in some detail and to a certain extent quantitatively with the objective that we do not waste time, money and energy curing the symptoms rather than dealing with the true causes.
