| PRODUCT DESCRIPTION |
Emulsyme technology is a biological method for recovering oil from emulsions and slop oils. It separates the oil from the emulsion. The Emulsyme process breaks the emulsion by using the hydrophobic cell surfaces of bacteria and the dual hydrophobic/hydrophilic nature of biosurfactants synthesized by the bacteria to displace or alter the emulsifiers that are present at the oil-water interface. The mixed microbial culture used is a naturally occurring community, isolated from hydrocarbon-contaminated soil or hydrocarbon containing sludge. |

| APPLICATION |
It provides a single source solution to the treatment of oil emulsions and recovery of saleable oil. Existing chemical methods requires rigorous testing and screening procedures to find a good de-emulsifier for a particular type of emulsion. It is an attractive alternative to the existing chemical methods and is more environmentally friendly. The technology is safer for the operators as compared to other technologies due to milder processing conditions involved. Extra revenues can be generated by recovering saleable oil. |
