The new Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals Directive (REACH) is due to come into force in the first half of 2007. Although twelve months away, REACH has been hailed as the largest and most complex piece of legislation to be introduced in Europe.

It will drive major changes through the UK chemicals industry, and also require significant action by users of chemicals. This edition of our briefing paper sets out the current status, and WSP’s recommendations for each sector.
