Since our Texas incorporation in 1988, BioCOPE, Inc. has offered the municipal and industrial wastewater community not only an excellent wastewater treatment product, but also an growing body of knowledge obtained from years of observing how hundreds of cities and companies operate their wastewater treatment systems and solve their inevitable challenges. BioCOPE has helped many of them find the solution to their problems with our organic catalyst, Biocope.
We are now proud to introduce our newest product, ERI, to the market. ERI (EnRiched Iron) contains 3%-5% ferrous sulfate suspended in BioCOPE`s organic catalyst base. The combination of the two is revolutionizing collection system odor and grease control management because treatment with ERI requires substantially lower treatment rates than the customary recommended iron dosage to obtain comparable results. Treatment with ERI can reduce vapor phase hydrogen sulfide levels to 5 PPM and lower water phase sulfides to .5 mg/L, while reducing grease and controlling organic odors at the same time.
ERI - EnRiched Iron
ERI contains a mixture of 3%-5% ferrous sulfate suspended in an organic catalyst base
Iron salts have been used for years to control odors and corrosion in collection and conveyance lines by removing dissolved sulfides. Their method of action is this:
-
The addition of ferrous sulfate to the wastewater flow results in the precipitation of sulfides as ferrous sulfide
-
Once the ferrous sulfide reaches the aeration basin within the plant, the ferrous sulfide is further broken down into sulfate and ferric iron
-
The ferric iron produced provides further benefits as it precipitates phosphorus within the plant
The organic catalyst used in ERI, which is the same as that used in our product Biocope, has been included in university-sponsored testing in which its ability to reduce sludge, control odors, and degrade volatile fatty acids has been demonstrated. Extensive field testing and controlled laboratory bench testing have found that Biocope controls sulfides, degrades grease, breaks down volatile fatty acids, reduces sludge volume and reduces the rate of microbially induced corrosion of metal.
ERI is commonly sold in 5-gallon pails, 55-gallon barrels, 275-gallon tote tanks, and 4,200-gallon bulk shipments. A delivery time of three days is guaranteed for individual orders of 1,275 gallons or less delivered in tote tanks or barrels, and ten days for orders of up to 15,000 gallons delivered in bulk tanker loads to destinations in the continental United States.
BioCOPE is the only company in the market offering a single product that can control hydrogen sulfide and organic odors, while also reducing fats, oil, and grease in collection lines.
Biocope
Our company has been manufacturing and selling Biocope to the wastewater treatment industry for nearly twenty years. Some of the results achieved by users of Biocope include:
- Reduced grease pumping and odors in grease interceptors
- Inhibited grease agglomeration
- Decreased corrosion and odors in lift stations and collection lines
- Sludge reductions of more than 30%,
- Again achieving effluent results within NPDES discharge limits,
- Control of odors in collection lines and facilities
- The ability to operate facilities at a higher MLSS because filamentous organisms have been controlled
All these results derive from a nonbacterial product that contains no surfactants or degreasers. Biocope is a non-hazardous liquid organic catalyst that has undergone extensive independent testing in studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. The topic one master`s thesis included Biocope`s impact on volatile solids reduction, volatile fatty acids, and methane in domestic and industrial waste. Another master`s thesis demonstrated the reduction of volatile solids in animal waste when treated with various rates of Biocope as compared to an untreated control.
