Speciation Monitors & Samplers
Series 5400 Ambient Carbon Particulate Monitor The Series 5400 Ambient Carbon Particulate Monitor is an automatic speciation analyzer of suspended particulate matter. It performs measurements of the elemental and organic carbon contained in suspended particulate matter at averaging times as short as one hour. Its thermal-CO2 analysis technique is similar to that used in many analytical laboratories to measure carbon particulate concentration. Using a direct thermal-CO2 technique patented by Thermo, the instrument differentiates between organic and elemental carbon particulate matter by oxidizing collected samples at an intermediate temperature and at a high final burn temperature. When operated at a two-hour cycle, the user can set up the monitor to perform up to three sample oxidations at intermediate temperatures prior to the final burn. Features: Regulatory Designations Measurement Results Calibration and Maintenance Data Handling Sample Inlets ChemVol® High Volume Cascade Impactor The ChemVol Model 2400 High Volume Cascade Impactor is a high volume sampling device that simultaneously collects numerous particle size fractions from ambient air. Multiple sampler stages permit the classification of ambient particulate matter (PM) into its coarse, fine, accumulation and ultra fine modes over short (multiple hour) or multi-day collection periods. Particulate matter in different size ranges is impacted onto a polyurethane foam (PUF) substrate. The collection surface is inert, prevents particle bounce, provides a high mass loading capacity, and is easily removable. The PUF material and the collected particulate matter are removed from the sampler, and the particles are analyzed in a laboratory. Features: Major System Components Sampler Configuration Particle Collection Mechanism Passive Samplers Radiello® Model 3310 Passive Sampling System The Radiello Passive Sampling System provides an effective means of sampling gases for industrial, indoor, outdoor, and personal exposure applications. As a passive sampler, the device does not require any electric power. The Radiello system contains a patented geometry developed by the Fondazione Salvatore Maugeri of Padova, Italy, that results in very high selectivity and sensitivity, and gas sampling rates. The Radiello system is included in the ISO 16200-2 standard for the sampling and analysis of volatile organics, and has played a major role in a number of major international projects for assessing the concentration of benzene and ozone precursors. Features: Sampling and Analysis In-Field Sampler Preparation ChemPass® Model 3400 Personal Sampling System The ChemPass Model 3400 Personal Sampling System is a modular device that provides high-quality samples of multiple pollutants simultaneously. It can provide valuable personal and indoor exposure information on concentrations of particulate matter (PM) and related pollutants. Such detailed information is generally not obtainable from monitors housed in conventional air quality monitoring stations. Configured as a multi-component system, the ChemPass unit contains six sampling devices connected to a high capacity battery-powered pump, all attached to a belt-and-suspenders mounting system. Single-pollutant configurations are also available in which a single PM-2.5 or PM-10 sampler is attached to a pump operating at 4 l/min. The sampling apparatus is worn in an individual’s breathing zone to ensure representative sampling. The pump located on an individual’s mounting belt provides the vacuum necessary to support the four active sampling devices contained in the multi-component system. Features include an extra-large LED display and optional Banshee audible alarm and strobe lights to ensure the entire area is alerted should the atmosphere exceed alarm levels. Typical applications may include parking garages, warehouses, baking facilities, steel mills or anywhere else carbon monoxide may accumulate. All parts are encased within the monitor’s 16-gauge steel housing. An internal lamp is activated when the enclosure is opened, providing visibility to the calibration controls in dark areas. All controls have been enlarged for easier access, simplifying the calibration process. The RS5100 utilizes a plug-in electrochemical sensor which is housed in a stainless steel cover, protecting the sensor from harsh environments. Features: Rugged and reliable Easy-to-read, large LED display Steel construction Optional lights and horns Measures CO from 0 - 1999 ppm Portable Multi-Gas Instruments MG140 Four-Gas Monitor The MG140 is designed to be a reliable, low cost gas monitoring solution in applications where the flexibility of a full featured multi gas monitor is not required. The MG140 continuously monitors the air and displays the concentration of oxygen, combustible gas, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide. A 90 dB audible alarm and ultra-bright visual alarm alert the user if gas concentrations have exceeded the preset limits. A high visibility, enamel coated stainless steel case provides the MG140 with the durability found in every gas monitor carrying the Industrial Scientific label. The MG140 instrument and SP100 sampling pump carry a full two year warranty. Portable Single-Gas Instruments VX500 PhotoIonization Detector The VX500 PhotoIonization Detector (PID) provides the ultimate flexibility in portable detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The VX500 utilizes a field-replaceable, plug-in detector and an interchangeable 10.6 eV lamp to monitor potentially hazardous compounds including benzene, toluene, xylene, and vinyl chloride at levels as low as 100 parts per billion (ppb). The VX500 also offers simple one-button calibration, TWA and STEL readings with peak/hold memory, and a time delay power button to prevent unintentional monitor shut-off. Data logging features include memory for up to 1,800 readings, iButton® data input, and customizable data recording intervals between one second to five minutes. The VX500 is also Docking StationTM compatible for complete utilization of the system’s automatic calibration and record-keeping functions and is backed by Industrial Scientifics’ “Guaranteed for Life” warranty. LKD100 Combustible Gas Leak Detector Combining low-cost, reliable protection with maintenance-free operation, the LKD100 Combustible Gas Leak Detector offers continuous detection of natural gas (methane) leaks. The LKD100 sounds an audible alarm when the combustible gas concentration exceeds the preset level of 500 ppm. The unit will also allow the user to manually customize the alarm pre-sets for specific monitoring needs. The LKD100 is designed to fit comfortably in a shirt pocket or tool belt and is available in either a rechargeable NiMH version or with a “AA” alkaline battery. Utilizing a long-life, solid state sensor which requires no calibration, the LKD100 is an ideal, low-cost monitoring solution for any-one who may encounter or need to check for gas leaks during the course of their day, including plumbers, or police, fire, utility and HVAC personnel. The leak detector is UL approved for use in Class I, Div 2 hazardous locations.
4800 Controller
The 4800 Controller is an analog/digital input/output system controller with remote dial out and access capabilities. The base unit consists of a micro-controller with display; modem, AC and phone line surge protection and 24-hour battery back up. A maximum number of 72 channels can be used; however the maximum number of modules (input and output) can not exceed 6 in any combination. Industrial Scientific recommends that a fixed system application survey be completed to help provide the most accurate assessment of your equipment requirements.
iTrans Fixed Point Monitors
iTrans offers a wide variety of sensor configurations and relay options for maximum flexibility and affordability. Use the following guide to select the options that best fit our monitoring needs and applications. Industrial Scientific recommends that a fixed system application survey be completed to help provide the most accurate assessment of your equipment requirements.
iTrans also offers a relay deactivation feature to prevent accidental alarm activation during calibrations. The units also feature simple non-intrusive calibration, ultra-bright LED display, programmable alarms and on-board sensor life indicators.
