Editorial

A wide range of products, from pipes to CD cases, are made from recycled plastic. Despite this, the amount of waste plastic which is returned to the material cycle is relatively small. As a result, governments are now making recycling a priority and providing collection services.

However, as recycling causes the expenditure of large amounts of resources and energy, it is preferable to reuse plastics. Long-life plastic packaging is now replacing the less durable variety, thus reducing waste.
