We advise, sell, support, hire and provide a range of air quality monitoring services including field operation, analysis and reporting. We specialise in monitoring particulate matter and gaseous pollutants in the air, indoors and outdoors and in just about any location imaginable. We would be happy to discuss your particular application and hopefully suggest a practical and affordable solution.

Thermo Ambient Air Gas Monitors

Air Monitors, in partnership with Thermo Electron (the worlds largest and most experienced manufacturer of air monitoring instruments) are proud to announce the launch of the new iseries of ambient air monitors in the UK. Based on Thermo Electrons tried and tested optics, these new monitors offer superb reliability, the latest internet communications and powerful data storage and diagnostics. They promise lower running costs through improved remote control and modular design and are backed by our field service team who have a reputation for maximising your data capture. Now that Air Monitors distribute Thermo`s air quality range in the UK the best no longer costs the most.

The new iSeries platform has been engineered to deliver the three things that are most important to you: reliability, simplicity, and usability.

Rugged, plant-proven components, advanced electronics, and operator friendly software come together in a flexible, easy-to-service package that establishes a new benchmark for gas analysis instrumentation.

Range includes:

Model 42i NOx

Using chemiluminescence technology, the Model 42i measures the amount of nitrogen oxides in the air from sub-ppb levels up to 100ppm.The Model 42i is a single Chamber, single photomultiplier tube design that cycles between the NO and NOX modes.

Model 43i SO2

Using pulsed fluorescence technology, the Model 43i measures the amount of sulphur dioxide in the air up to 10ppm. The pulsing of the U.V. source lamp serves to increase the optical intensity whereby a greater U.V. energy throughput and lower detectable SO2 concentration are realized.

Model 48i CO

Using gas filter correlation technology, the Model 48i measures the amount of carbon monoxide in the air. The Model 48i is based on the principle that carbon monoxide (CO) absorbs infrared radiation at a wavelength of 4.6 microns. Because infrared absorption is a nonlinear measurement technique, it is necessary for the instrument electronics to transform the basic analyzer signal into a linear output. The Model 48i uses an exact calibration curve to accurately linearize the instrument output over any range up to a concentration of 10,000ppm.

Common Features include:

  • Ethernet connectivity for efficient remote access
  • Enhanced user interface with one button programming and large display screen
  • Flash memory for increased data storage and user downloadable software
  • Enhanced electronics design optimizes product commonality
  • Improved layout for easier accessibility to components

Model 49C Ozone

The Model 49C combines the unique, time shared dual cell design with an enhanced electronics package and user interface. The outcome is a powerful, easy-to-use, UV photometric based ozone analyzer which offers increased specificity via its balanced optical system.

Ambient Air Particulate Monitors

TEOM Series 1400 Monitor

The TEOM monitor uses the relationship between mass and frequency to determine the mass of airborne particles collected on a filter. As this relationship is a direct physical law the instrument is the only true mass concentration monitor and is unaffected by particle chemistry, size colour or shape, making it ideal for measuring ambient PM. The system can be fitted with a range of size selective inlets (TSP, PM10, PM2.5, PM1) and sample collection options. The system has active volumetric flow control and measures ambient temperature and pressure which together with all other measurements can be stored in the on-board data logger.

TEOM - Series 8500 FDMS Monitor

The TEOM - FDMS (Filter Dynamics Measurement System) is the only PM monitor able to measure both the semi-volatile and `core` fractions of airborne particulate matter. The FDMS eliminates the need to apply a correction factor which is currently applied to real time PM measurements in an attempt to comply with the current European gravimetric reference methods. It uses the same mass measurement principle as the TEOM series 1400 monitor and in addition has a self referencing function allowing the determination of semi-volatile PM.

Thermo Model FH62 Beta Attenuation Monitor

This Thermo Model FH62 beta attenuation monitor provides a lower cost alternative to the TEOM series where specific applications permit.

The FH 62 C14 Continuous Ambient Particulate Monitor measures the mass concentration of suspended particulate matter (e.g., TSP, PM10, PM2.5, PMC and PM1) by use of beta attenuation. In addition, the ambient radioactive influence of natural Radon (Rn-222) gas is measured as a refinement step toward better sensitivity at lower ambient particulate concentrations.

Model 5030 SHARP Monitor

The Thermo SHARP PM monitor combines a beta attenuation monitor with a light scattering monitor providing precision and speed of response in one monitor. The SHARP provides an alternative to the TEOM range depending on your specific application.

The Model 5030 SHARP Monitor is a synchronized hybrid ambient real-time particulate monitor. The SHARP Monitor utilizes proprietary digital filtering to continuously mass calibrate the nephelometric measurement of PM10 and PM2.5. The result is an accurate, precise, and realtime continuous particulate monitor with unprecedented time resolution and detection limit.

Airpointer: Compact Air Quality Monitoring System

Airpointer is a new concept in air quality monitoring. In the past a multi-gas and particle pollution monitoring system would have been housed in a large walk in shelter, with airpointer it is possible to achieve similar performance with a small enclosure mounted on a post or wall, allowing measurements to be made in locations not previously possible.

Airpointer is a compact system encompassing up to four gas monitors using reference method technology allowing high accuracy measurements at ambient concentrations to be made almost anywhere. Its small size and low power consumption make it an ideal choice for local authorities as part of their detailed air quality assessments or by industry, highways, airports and train stations for fenceline monitoring around a facility.

The system is managed by a powerful on board computer which is also a web server allowing the entire system to be remotely controlled from the comfort of your office. Data is transmitted automatically via cellphone networks to a central server where it can be used to produce reports in almost real time or disseminated to the public via internet web sites or public displays. No special software is required as all functions are handled by a standard internet browser.

Airpointer is able to monitor and communicate much more data than a conventional air quality station giving you faster and easier access to the data. It also allows service personnel to take control remotely and can reduce down time by alerting those concerned as soon as a problem occurs. It can even be remotely calibrated helping to cut down the frequency of site visits.
